Sky Sports confirm Danny Rohl’s brutal step but Saints would feel it necessary

Ahead of the next Championship season, former Saints manager Danny Rohl has mutually terminated his time at

Sheffield Wednesday.

Saints may not acknowledge it, but they must have thought of previous manager Danny Rohl when they heard about

Russell Martin and Ruben Selles recently. And that’s for all the correct reasons given his current situation, as the

other two former bosses fortify their positions.

The funny thing is that, despite living remote from transfer rumours, Rohl has now made headlines with a shocking

transfer. This is due to Danny Rohl’s significant decision to leave Sheffield Wednesday before the upcoming

campaign.

Danny Rohl’s Hillsborough departure was recently revealed by Sky Sports and was the result of a mutual contract

termination between the manager and the club. It goes without saying that Rohl is now a free agent and is not

subject to the same transfer fee issues as before.

Rohl’s bold call finds him in a dilemmatic situation again

Saints fans would now genuinely be happy for Rohl after feeling sorry for their former captain for a while. But they

all pose the same query: hasn’t the manager made a somewhat bad choice about his future?

This is due to the fact that all of the English and Bundesliga clubs, which are Rohl’s ideal destinations, had already

appointed managers by this point. On paper, Rohl has the entire month of August to find a new club, but he must be

moving quickly.

Why? Rohl would be left with no choice but to sit around if he lost the race against time. Unless he enters in an

assistant capacity, as he led with the Saints, that speaks to the worst case scenario.

Apart from that, Rohl’s best option would be to remain patient, waiting for some relegation-nearing clubs to look for

him next season. With almost no top coaches available during the season, Rohl can come as an automatic choice

even for the best of clubs. But again, it remains speculative, let’s see what’s in store for Rohl next.
