The reason why Birmingham City pulled out of Tottenham transfer chase revealed
Mikey Moore of Tottenham was not pursued by Birmingham City because they believed they couldn’t provide the
young player with consistent playing time this season.
The 17-year-old, who is highly regarded at Spurs, actually participated in 10 Premier League games during the
previous season and was a part of the Londoners’ Europa League run as they won the trophy.

However, it was decided that a loan move was the next best step for Moore’s development, and a host of clubs had been linked with the teenager, including Birmingham.

However, Rangers are expected to prevail in the competition for Moore, as the England youth international will sign
with the Glasgow team for the 2025–2026 campaign.
Given his potential, some Blues supporters were upset that the team was unable to sign Moore, especially since Chris
Davies had a relationship with both Spurs and Moore because he had served as Ange Postecoglou’s assistant prior to
relocating to St. Andrew’s.
However, according to Give Me Sport, Davies and the Birmingham recruitment team decided against signing Moore
after realising they couldn’t promise the attacker the minutes he desired.
It’s added that Davies recognised that not utilising Moore regularly would not go down well at Spurs, and he didn’t
want to damage Blues’ reputation as they may look to do further deals in the future.

options in the final third, and you would still expect another wide man to arrive.
It would not have gone over well if Moore had been sitting on the bench at St. Andrew’s because he would not have
been certain of playing time and Spurs would have given preference to a team where they believed he would be in the
starting lineup every single week.
Of course, having a guy like that involved would be fantastic in a perfect world, but as previously mentioned, neither
Spurs nor Moore want that, so the Blues have made the proper choice.
Although Davies’ best team appears to be excellent on paper and they have had a fantastic window, the team might
use an additional attacking option as they get ready for a demanding season.
So, it will be intriguing to see who else Birmingham will bring in, but the fans will be very excited about what this
season could bring, as they target back-to-back promotions.
