Wrexham unexpectedly approaches the attacker from Ipswich Town

Wrexham has big goals, and many are already taking notice of their incredible ascent up the English football hierarchy. The Red Dragons have advanced three times in a row from the National League to the Championship under manager Phil Parkinson’s guidance and with the support of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. It’s a record-breaking increase, and all indications point to more to come. Their goals are still quite high, but they will want additional reinforcements this summer to maintain the momentum.
This month, Wrexham has been looking for attackers and has been connected to a number of players. Fans of the Red Dragons have a new addition, a Wales international. Anthony Joseph, a correspondent for Sky Sports, claims that Wrexham has approached Ipswich Town about signing Nathan Broadhead. For the striker, Wrexham is prepared to pay Ipswich Town up to £7 million.
The Red Dragons’ transfer record would be shattered by this deal. Broadhead will probably be a key component of Ipswich Town’s attempt to return to the Premier League, and the club has no plans to trade him this summer. This summer, Wrexham has been linked to a number of Wales International forwards, including Nathan Broadhead. Kieffer Moore, a striker for Sheffield United, has been strongly connected to a possible £4 million move to Wales in recent days.
Broadhead and Moore’s possible transfers to Wrexham would bring them back together at the club level. The two played together with Ipswich Town during the 2023–2024 season in addition to being teammates for their country. The two would undoubtedly be excellent for Wrexham, as they were instrumental in the Tractor Boys’ ascension to the Premier League. The Red Dragons could only benefit from the two of them getting back together.

The connections between Moore and Broadhead raise some concerns. Josh Windass and Ryan Hardie are the two strikers that Wrexham has already acquired this summer.
Both Windass and Hardie will have had many alternatives and are both very good attackers in the Championship. To transfer to Wrexham, they undoubtedly had to be promised playing time. However, the summer additions may struggle for playing time if the Welsh pair signs on. It would be interesting to observe how Parkinson handles Windass and Broadhead in especially because their characteristics are so similar.
