SUPERCUPNI ROUND-UP (GIRLS): Larne wins, Brighton advances to the final, and Manchester United scores nine goals

Manchester United’s nine goals without a response against Crusaders at Chimney Corner started the action in the junior section. Following a close first half, the English team quickly gained the upper hand and seized the lead thanks to a fantastic goal by Daisy Booth. Shortly after, Booth scored her second goal after grabbing a fantastic through-ball and slipping past the Crues keeper.

Amelie Roberts then scored a third goal with a long-range, looping effort, and shortly before halftime, Booth produced a brilliant strike that flew into the top corner of the net to complete her hat-trick. After the interval, United didn’t let up and quickly scored a penalty kick before adding a sixth. Eva Bold then hammered home number eight after Ella Wardle’s clever header in the seventh.

From a few yards out, Halle Morley bundled home to complete the score. After the Americans upset Kilmarnock in a thrilling 5–4 match at Rathcoole, United will play Surf Select. Larne defeated FC United 3-1 at Mossley in the other game in the section. Shamrock Rovers defeated Northeast Rush 5-0 at Mossley to win group B in the Premier Division.

After the English team defeated the Irish team Finn Harps 4-1 at Dixon Park, they will play group A winners Brighton in Thursday night’s cup final. Northern Ireland lost to Manchester United 4-1 in the evening kickoff at Dixon Park, capping off a poor campaign. On minute 21, Summer Hadfield gave United the lead with a close-range cross.

Two minutes after the restart, Grace Taylor scored a second goal with an incredible drive from all thirty-five yards into the top corner. Northern Ireland had a chance six minutes later when Abbie Smyth headed in a cross from the right, but they lost twice in stoppage time. Madison Vernon’s tenacious goal came first, followed by Summer Hadfield’s incredible wide right strike.
