Wrexham are pursuing a deal for Sheffield United forward Kieffer Moore, and the reasons for the Blades’ eagerness to offload the Welshman are now evident as they seek his replacement.
Wrexham’s 2025/26 Championship season begins in over a week, when they face freshly relegated Southampton at St Mary’s.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have shown unambiguous support for Phil Parkinson following his promotion from League One, and the Wrexham owners will back their manager during the summer transfer window.
The striker department, in particular, has been strengthened this summer, with Ryan Hardie and Josh Windass signing from Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday, respectively, but Wrexham will not give up in their chase of attackers.

Sheffield United are looking to replace Kieffer Moore with Oli McBurnie
According to The Star, Sheffield United want to reconcile with former Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie this summer.
The Scotsman previously played for the Blades before joining La Liga side Las Palmas, but he is now looking to return to the Championship. The Scot is expected to be a comparable substitute for Kieffer Moore, whom Wrexham are very interested in signing.
Wrexham are interested in negotiating a £4 million fee for Moore this summer, whilst Sheffield United’s replacement, McBurnie, will cost the Blades nothing.
Wrexham’s pursuit of Kieffer Moore could be called into question
When Wrexham’s interest in Kieffer Moore became known, it was evident that Sheffield United were aggressively looking for a successor, and they did it by signing Oli McBurnie as a free agent at a reasonable cost.
Unfortunately, Phil Parkinson believes that numerous Championship clubs are interested in signing McBurnie this summer, including Ipswich Town and Hull City.
If Sheffield United are unable to find a suitable successor for Moore, they may be more reluctant to allow the forward go, putting Wrexham in doubt. As a result, Wrexham should be aware of other options if they are unable to finalize a deal for Moore.
The shape of a Championship goalscorer can be a scarce commodity in the transfer market; but, there is confidence that they will be able to find someone to replace that void in the squad this summer.
