Birmingham City and minority owner Tom Brady want to sign two players from the same club, and one offer has already been approved.
Brady wants Birmingham to continue spending to compete with Wrexham
The Blues are gearing up for their instant return to the Championship following a record-breaking League One title win.
Brady, Tom Wagner, and co. have made ten new recruits this summer, including Rennes attacker Kyogo Furuhashi.

|---|---|---|
| Kyogo Furuhashi | Rennes | £10m |
| Alfons Sampsted | FC Twente | £1.7m |
| Taylor Gardner-Hickman | Bristol City | £1.5m |
| Bright Osayi-Samuel | Fenerbahce | Free |

| Demarai Gray | Al-Ettifaq | Free |
| Phil Neumann | Hanover 96 | Free |
| Tommy Doyle | Wolves | Loan |

| James Beadle | Brighton | Loan |
Brady, however, does not want to stop there, and in recent comments cited by PA, stated that Birmingham must continue to spend in order to compete with Wrexham and Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
“We have to keep spending. We need to stay up with one another. I think Wrexham has done an excellent job. I can’t help but be excited about what they’ve done for that club. I’m very impressed with Wrexham.
“What they do on and off the pitch, and they’re in a wonderful position to succeed. We’re going to talk a lot of garbage in the meanwhile because it’s a fun show, and I believe there are some friendly side bets going on.
“But make no mistake, the people who are going to decide the fate of those games are the players wearing those jerseys.”
Now there’s an update on two targets that St Andrews and Chris Davies will be familiar with.
Birmingham want a double deal for the Rangers duo.
According to GiveMeSport, Birmingham City are interested in bringing Rangers’ Ben Davies and Kieran Dowell back to the Midlands before the September 1 deadline.

Davies, who earns £27,000 per week, played 44 times for the Blues on loan from Ibrox last season but has yet to play under Russell Martin owing to an injury.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Dowell, who earns £16,000 a week, scored 10 goals in 23 Birmingham appearances last season and took part in Rangers’ pre-season.
Both players will be out of contract at Ibrox in a year, and Birmingham are reportedly in advanced talks with Davies for a £750,000 deal.
According to FI, a ‘contract is expected to be concluded when Davies has recovered from a minor injury’, so Davies and Birmingham may be pleased if they can also lure Dowell back down south.
According to GMS, ‘Rangers are holding out for fees for a few of players who may or may not form part of Martin’s plans’, so Birmingham and Brady may need to get out the checkbook for Dowell as well.
