Alex Neil on Millwall’s hopes
Millwall manager Alex Neil stated early in the summer, “We’re not here just to make up the numbers and be a little unfortunate.
Our plan and hope is to take the next step and become a team that will compete to advance out of this division.
We plan to gradually build, rather than outspending our opponents, as this approach provides greater longevity. It’s easy to find some money to get there, but if the foundations are built on sand, it won’t last long.
Regardless of how next year goes, I believe it is a very exciting time to be a Millwall fan – we have so many good young players and assets on the horizon coming through.”
Julian Stephan on QPR’s hopes
Julian Stephan, the new QPR manager, stated, “I know the history of QPR, but now we are in a different period.
It is important to remember and understand history, but it is equally important to live in the present and plan for the future. There is work to be done with everyone, including the players, management, CEO, owners, and club legends. It is the responsibility of everyone.
“We understand the fans’ expectations: we must give our all on the pitch while also developing a strong identity. It’s very important, followed by football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you have to give your all.”
Nathan Jones on Charlton Athletic’s hopes
This summer, Charlton manager Nathan Jones told the club website: “I’m really looking forward to being back at The Valley; I think it’s important we started here [at The Valley] to get acclimated to the Championship and to maintain the momentum that we finished with in the play-offs.” We’re excited to get started in a league that we’ve worked so hard to join. “You look at derby games like Millwall.
You also look for old clubs, return trips to Wales, and Christmas fixtures. We won’t put too much emphasis on individual games, but we’ll make sure we’re competitive.”
