Gueye exits Aberdeen for ‘significant fee’.

Aberdeen have sold striker Pape Gueye to Turkish Super Lig club Kasimpasa for “a significant undisclosed fee.” The 25-year-old joined Pittodrie from Belgian club KV Kortrijk in August 2023 and has scored eight goals in 36 appearances.

Six of those goals came in the first eight games of last season, before missing four months with a muscle injury.

He came on as an early second-half substitute in the Dons’ Scottish Cup final victory over Celtic in May.

“We wish Pape all the very best with his transfer to Turkey, and we thank him for his contributions during his time at Aberdeen, notably his positive impact in the Scottish Cup final” , according to Jimmy Thelin, Aberdeen’s manager.

“We’re pleased with our recruitment so far this summer, and work continues to bring in additional reinforcements and improvements before the window closes.

We are still forming the squad.” Kasimpasa, based in Istanbul, are coached by former Rangers striker Shota Arveladze and finished 10th in the top flight last season.
