Sunderland make ‘massive statement’ with transfer coup – ‘Big noise’

Sunderland transfer news: Regis Le Bris explains the project.

Regis Le Bris highlighted Sunderland’s expression of intent following Granit Xhaka’s arrival.

The head coach has stated that the Swiss’ strong standards will boost everyone’s confidence for the forthcoming Premier League season.

Following a trophy-laden period with Bayern Leverkusen, Xhaka has signed a three-year contract with Wearside, becoming one of the club’s most significant additions in recent history.

The Swiss captain’s pedigree and reputation have followed him throughout his career, having won titles with Basel FC, Arsenal, and Leverkusen while guiding his country to World Cups and European.

The 32-year-old’s acquisition to Le Bris’ squad adds tremendous experience, a strong personality behind the scenes, and on-field leadership.

“First and foremost, it makes a huge statement about the club’s attractiveness,” the head coach told safc.com. “If a player of that caliber agrees to our idea, it signifies something.

“I have to commend those who worked behind the scenes on completing the relocation. It makes a tremendous noise, which is what we want to do this season.

“For the squad, it’s critical. We began our recruitment with great young players, but the second layer is intended to balance the group with more experience.

“With what he has achieved in the game, Granit is really good for that.” Among Xhaka’s impressive credentials, the Swiss has 225 Premier League appearances with the Gunners and 137 caps for his country, making him the all-time appearance maker.

Xhaka, who was a legendary character in the Premier League for seven years in North London, brings a combative style of play, poise on the ball, and an eye for a pass to the Head Coach’s squad.

Le Bris went on: “It’s very evident what he’ll add to the squad. At the same time, his skill level is high. “He contributes significantly to the squad’s overall balance.

He is a captain, a leader, and has extensive experience in the Premier League and the national squad. This portion of our structure will be critical to balancing the squad.

We’re quite happy. “He’s still at the top with a specific style of play so it’s really important to feel these pillars in our structure because it gives confidence to everyone for the Premier League.”

Sunderland’s seventh addition of the summer will wear the number 34 shirt throughout the next Premier League season.
