Bournemouth rejected! Sevilla defender snubs Premier League club’s approach despite €30m agreement with La Liga club with Sunderland and Erik ten Hag’s Bayer Leverkusen ready to swoop
Loic Bade has declined Bournemouth’s offer despite the English club’s agreement with Sevilla, while Bayer Leverkusen could pounce on the defender.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Le Parisien, Bournemouth reached a deal with Sevilla for €30 million (£26 million/$35 million), but the player turned down the offer. Sunderland are also interested in Bade, with sports director Florent Ghisolfi eager for a reunion after worked with him at Lens, although he may choose to transfer to Leverkusen due to the German club’s participation in the Champions League next season.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Bade transferred from Rennes to Sevilla permanently in January 2023 after excelling on loan in Spain. His outstanding performances earned him a contract extension until 2029 and a call-up to the French national team, where he was selected by Didier Deschamps for France’s 2-0 victory over Germany.

Sunderland, who are seeking to extend their busy summer with an audacious move for Bade, have already signed eight players this summer. They are also trying to add defensive reinforcements in the form of Jhon Lucumi from Bologna, while Chelsea forward Marc Guiu is poised to join on loan.

Bade will be looking to settle his future swiftly, with the new season less than two weeks away. Sevilla, meantime, hopes that more clubs will match Bournemouth’s offer as they seek to cash in on the French defender.
