Burnley manager Scott Parker praises Maxime Esteve’s new contract, calling it a “real commitment.”

Less than a year after agreeing to another contract extension with the Clarets, the Frenchman just signed a new five-year contract. During the summer, the 23-year-old attracted interest from teams like Crystal Palace and Tottenham, but Esteve thinks staying at Turf Moor is best for his growth as a player.
Parker, who has already seen three of last season’s stars who won promotions—Josh Brownhill, CJ Egan-Riley, and James Trafford—move on this summer, needed to keep onto Esteve’s services. Parker anticipates that the centre-back will once again play a “pivotal” role for his team in the Premier League, as he did in the Championship. The Clarets manager told the Burnley Express, “That’s really important.”
“He was crucial to our success last year, and we can all see his qualities. He will be crucial to us once more this year. It’s quite important to us, so I’m thrilled that we were able to finalise that contract and give the club owners credit for our success. “I’m thrilled to have Maxi because he’s not only a fantastic football player but also a fantastic person who demonstrated genuine dedication by remaining here.”
