In a shocking move, a Barcelona star is likely to join Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr after terminating their contract.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi Pro League team has agreed to sign centre-back Inigo Martinez after journalist Matteo Moretto said that the player was close to leave Barcelona and that Al-Nassr was in negotiations to get him. The 34-year-old will join as a free agent and end his Blaugrana contract immediately, he says. Since joining Barcelona from Athletic Bilbao in 2023, the former Spain international has been a vital member of the team. The veteran was a mainstay in Flick’s squad and has made 71 appearances for the team, including 46 last season. However, in a profitable move, he is now leaving to join Portugal’s legendary Cristiano Ronaldo.
Romano goes on to say that Martinez will sign a contract that will last until the summer of 2026, with the possibility of an additional 12-month extension. According to reports, he will pay close to €8 million to join, and he will bid farewell to his Barcelona teammates this week. The former Real Sociedad player, who helped Barcelona win a La Liga and Copa del Rey double last season, may make his Al-Nassr debut on August 19 against Al-Ittihad.
