BBC correspondent Steve Hermon has described West Brom star Isaac Price as ‘the genuine deal’.
West Brom signed the midfielder during the January transfer window last year. WBA awarded him a four-and-a-half-year contract.
Price, 21, has made a strong impression on the Baggies. He has made 15 appearances for them and scored one goal.
According to BBC Sport, journalist Hermon was impressed and gave his assessment of the player: “Isaac Price. He is the poster boy for Northern Ireland’s national team, and the 21-year-old midfielder is expected to play in the Premier League in the near future. The former Everton youth player has excelled in a variety of positions, and having seeing him in action during Albion’s pre-season training camp in Austria, I can confidently say that he is the real deal.
He added: “A club the stature of West Bromwich Albion should always seek for promotion, but the Championship is more competitive than ever before, and the club is still dealing with financial constraints. The goal is to make the play-offs, but the next month’s transfer activity will be crucial. At a recent fans discussion we hosted, the majority of Baggies fans said they expected a top-half finish.
West Brom star Isaac Price lauded
Last winter, West Brom signed Price to strengthen their squad. He has subsequently become an important element of WBA’s roster as they prepare for another year in the Championship.
The Yorkshire native rose through Everton’s academy systems and played for the Premier League club at various youth levels. Price, who has 20 caps for the Northern Ireland national side, signed his first professional contract with Everton back in 2020.

What next for West Brom?
West Brom are preparing for a new era under Ryan Mason. WBA chose him as Tony Mowbray’s replacement, and he signed a three-year contract at The Hawthorns that runs until 2028.
The Baggies have the opportunity to add some more new faces in the coming weeks. The transfer window closes on Monday, September 1st.
This weekend, they face Blackburn Rovers at home on the opening day. Mason will want his squad to begin with a victory in front of their own fans. Their prospective opponents missed the play-offs on the final day of last season.
