Tyrese Campbell has been clear about his future with Sheffield United in the face of Everton interest.
The forward joined the Blades last summer and was a major member of the team that reached the play-off final under Chris Wilder.
Ruben Selles is now in command of the first-team squad, which will look to go one step further and gain promotion to the Premier League this season.
Campbell signed as a free agent from Stoke City, and his performances have led to speculation that he could join Everton this summer after only one season in Yorkshire.
The 25-year-old forward had a promising debut season in the Steel City, scoring 10 goals in 33 appearances but just 20 starts at a strike rate of 0.57 per 90 minutes.
Campbell’s keen eye for goal, of course, was insufficient to guide United back into the Premier League, but he did score in the eventual 2-1 play-off final defeat to Sunderland at Wembley in May and is poised to play an important role in Selles’ plans to take the club to the promised land at the second time of asking.
Tyrese Campbell explains his Sheffield United focus
Campbell has confirmed his commitment to Sheffield United ahead of the new season, which begins this weekend.
The forward stated that he is grateful to the Championship club for the opportunity they provided him last year, and that his goal is to assist the team earn promotion to the top flight.
“One hundred percent, yeah,” Campbell told The Star when asked if he was focused on Sheffield United.
“The club took a risk on me, and I want to reward them for their faith in me.
“So I absolutely want to come here and be a part of it.
“For me, it was simple to fit into the team and the style of play.
“There were a lot of terrific people and characteristics on the team last season.
“For me, as I’ve stated before, it was the best group I’ve ever been a part of.
“And getting involved in that, playing and being an integral part of it, was something I enjoyed.

“I competed against Kieffer Moore, and one of us would play.
“Competition is something that every player needs, and I believe it helped me advance in my game and career.
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity that I had last year because I was probably injured for the majority of the previous season.
“So for the club to take that sort of gamble was good, and I’ve got a lot of repayment to do.”
Sheffield United’s first game will be against Bristol City this evening at 5.30pm.

Sheffield United will welcome Tyrese Campbell’s words
Everton are still monitoring Campbell with only a few weeks left in the summer, but his statements should allay any concerns about his future.
The forward was productive in the Championship last year and will most likely be chosen to lead the line in his first season with Selles.
He proved to be a wise move last year, and bringing goals to the team via a free agent signing was excellent business for the Blades.

The goal will be to push for promotion this year, but competition for a top two spot will be fierce, so Sheffield United will need Campbell to be at his peak to fight with the likes of Ipswich Town, Southampton, Leicester City, and the other promotion contenders.
