Hull City Goalkeeper Ivor Pandur on Middlesbrough’s Transfer Radar
Hull City began their 2025/26 Championship campaign with a solid point away at Coventry City, but one of their standout players from the stalemate is now attracting attention from a divisional rival.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, writing on his Patreon page, Hull City goalkeeper Ivor Pandur has emerged as a transfer target for Middlesbrough. The Croatian shot-stopper, who has been a key figure for the Tigers since his arrival, is reportedly high on Boro’s list as they look to bolster their options between the sticks.
The 0-0 draw at the CBS Arena marked a positive defensive start for Tim Walter’s side, with Pandur producing a composed display to help secure the clean sheet. His command of the box, confident distribution, and ability to deal with aerial threats were all on show against a Coventry side expected to be in the promotion mix.
Pandur, 24, joined Hull City from Fortuna Sittard in 2023 and has since established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. His performances in the Championship last season earned him plaudits, particularly for his reflex saves and consistency, making him one of the league’s more highly regarded keepers.
Middlesbrough, managed by Michael Carrick, are understood to be seeking reinforcements in goal following uncertainty over their current options. While Seny Dieng remains their No.1, the Teessiders are keen to add competition and long-term stability in that department. Pandur’s Championship experience and age profile make him an attractive proposition for the Riverside outfit.
However, Hull City are unlikely to welcome any approach lightly. Pandur is under contract at the MKM Stadium, and Walter will be eager to retain a player so integral to his defensive structure. The Tigers have ambitions of pushing towards the play-offs this season, and losing their starting goalkeeper at this stage of the transfer window could disrupt their plans.
From the player’s perspective, a move to Middlesbrough could present both opportunity and challenge. Boro are targeting promotion after narrowly missing out in recent seasons, and joining a squad with strong aspirations could appeal to Pandur. At the same time, he is settled in East Yorkshire and is a guaranteed starter for Hull, something that might not be immediately assured should he move north.
Hull’s opening-day draw provided encouraging signs of defensive solidity, with new signings bedding in and Walter’s tactical approach showing early promise. Pandur’s role in that performance cannot be understated, and the Tigers’ supporters will hope speculation over his future does not become a distraction as they prepare for upcoming fixtures.
Transfer interest between Championship clubs is nothing new, but the timing of Middlesbrough’s reported admiration for Pandur adds intrigue. With the summer window still open, Hull face the challenge of fending off suitors while keeping their squad intact for the long haul.
