Harrison Neal, a midfielder for Fleetwood Town, says he and his family will cherish Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup match against Barnsley, but he maintains that the main goal is to advance to the next round.
When the Cod Army plays at Oakwell, the 24-year-old, who is from the nearby city of Sheffield, will have a lot of support from the crowd. Neal remarked, “It’s going to be a good night; my dad has season tickets.”
But for us, everything are going as usual. It will be good to have all of my friends watch. However, we’re there to win, and if we succeed, who knows what will happen next.
After a solid start to the season, Neal, who joined Town in January, says he is loving life at Highbury and thinks the team is in a good position. To be honest, I’m having a great time with it.
Although we didn’t finish the previous season well enough, we’ve got off to a strong start this year. We must continue, but when the chips fall, it’s two games.
The midfield player also said, “The gaffer’s been good,” praising Head Coach Pete Wild for his trust and clarity since taking over in December.
He has made it apparent what he wants from us, and we believe we are in a strong position to carry it out. I enjoy football and play games in a way that works for me since he trusted me and included me in the squad.
Neal is aware of the difficulty and importance of the match because Barnsley has not lost this season. They’ve gotten off to a good start, and I’m the best person to predict what kind of test they’ll present.
It will be particularly memorable for me because this is only my second time performing at Oakwell. However, we’re headed there to finish the task.
With a win in South Yorkshire, Town hopes to continue their undefeated start in 2025–2026 and secure a spot in the Carabao Cup Second Round.
