Report: Jackson Tchatchoua’s salary at Wolves is revealed, it’s a huge difference to Nelson Semedo

Hellas Verona right-back Jackson Tchatchoua has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal with Wolves to replace Nelson Semedo.

Wolves’ interest in Jackson Tchatchoua began in early July, but it wasn’t until the past 24 hours that it turned into a transaction.
Following the release of the Cameroon international’s physical last night, Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed the personal terms agreed to by the player.
The 23-year-old will sign a five-year contract worth £36,000 per week, representing a considerable discount over his predecessor.

Wolves will save £3.5m per year by replacing Nelson Semedo with Jackson Tchatchoua

Semedo was Wolves’ captain and a significant member of Vitor Pereira’s squad. His departure disappointed Wolves fans, who saw Semedo as a vital figure during his five years at Molineux.

One advantage of him departing is that Wolves will save money on Semedo’s salaries.

The Portuguese star was one of the club’s biggest earners, with a weekly salary of £100,000. That amounts to £5.2 million each year, whereas the young Tchatchoua costs far less, at £1.7 million per year.
However, the benefits of this cost-cutting can only be realized if their new wing-back can arrive and make an impression.

Jackson Tchatchoua is a gamble, but one Wolves and Vitor Pereira need to take

Wolves’ top objectives for the right-back position were two Spaniards: Sevilla’s Juanlu Sanchez and UD Almeira’s Marc Pubill. Both of these guys are more experienced than Wolves’ recent signing. Of course, they would have cost more as well.

This summer, every team looking to purchase in that position appeared to be focusing on the same targets, and Wolves were unable to gain a competitive advantage.

They were offered the opportunity to go with a slightly less well-known moniker, and given the squad’s limited options, they had to take advantage.

Tchatchoua may not be the technical player Wolves were looking for, but he is physically capable of playing in the Premier League and could surprise many in his debut season with the club.
