Exclusive: Harry Tyrer of Everton is a target for Hearts

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Hearts are thinking about making a late-transfer window move to acquire Everton custodian Harry Tyrer. Since the 23-year-old is in the last year of his contract, they are willing to let him walk on even though he is far down the pecking order under David Moyes. Tyrer made 42 appearances and recorded 13 clean sheets in all competitions on his season-long loan at League One team Blackpool.
After the goalie’s loan stint, Steve Bruce’s team was eager to sign him permanently, but they couldn’t come to an agreement. Now that Mark Travers has been added, he might be the most recent goalie to depart the Toffees this summer, joining Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia. Tyrer has not made an appearance during his tenure on Merseyside, and it is said that he is eager to play more regular games than he would be able to at Everton.
There is a sense that he is now prepared to make the move permanently after loan stints at Chester FC, Chesterfield, and most recently, Blackpool. Even though it was decided to give 42-year-old Craig Gordon another season at Tynecastle, preparations are currently underway to find a permanent replacement. Last season, Gordon made 46 appearances in all competitions, but he missed the last three games due to a nerve problem. Ryan Fulton and Zander Clark have also experienced problems. Tyrer is considered by Hearts as a possible addition to their first team roster.
