Bolton Wanderers loanee Amario Cozier-Duberry has been heavily praised after an explosive start to life in League One with the Lancashire club after joining the club on loan.
The Trotters have rebounded from their opening-day setback at Stockport County with four points from six games, putting them in mid-table, and they are ready to take off this season under promotion-winning manager Steven Schumacher.
Bolton has had an incredibly busy summer, with 12 new players arriving at The Toughsheet Community Stadium as Schumacher pushes on with his goal of improving on their slightly disappointing eighth-place finish last season.
Four of those players are loan signings, including Cozier-Duberry, who joins Bolton on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion following a mixed season with Blackburn Rovers in 2024-25.
“I don’t want to get carried away” – Amario Cozier-Duberry praised after strong Bolton Wanderers start

Football League World spoke with Bolton fan pundit Liam O’Meara on Amario Cozier-Duberry’s signing at the club, and Liam couldn’t have been more complimentary.
“I don’t want to get carried away because it’s very early days, but he does look like a very talented player, and he shone all the way through pre-season,” Liam told ESPN.
“I live quite close to Blackburn, particularly in Bolton, and I know a lot of Blackburn supporters, all of whom have nothing but positive things to say about him, so I was excited by the deal. He looks like a tremendous player.”
Liam is enthusiastic about Cozier-Duberry’s season, but he cautions against getting too enthused this early.
“In terms of expectations for the season, if he carries on the way that he has, he’s going to have a very, very good year,” says Liam.
“You don’t want to get too carried away after essentially three games of the season.”
“We’ll see what happens next year.
“Loan players come and go; that is the way of football. If we wanted to keep him, we’d likely have to play at a higher level.
“But it’s too early to say. Who knows? What we don’t want is to lose him earlier, which is the most important thing. We will talk about next season in the summer, but what a start he’s had.”
Amario Cozier-Duberry’s talents will likely belong at a higher level than League One in the future

Amario Cozier-Duberry has been through the Arsenal and Brighton academies, so there is no doubt about his natural potential. He spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, and he has represented England at every level of their youth system, from under-15 to under-20.
If the player lives up to the potential he demonstrated in his youth, he may leave Bolton.
He is already playing in a lower league than he was last season, and his parent club reserves the right to withdraw him and place him at a higher level if they believe it is best for the player’s development.
However, with one excellent goal against Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup, it is apparent that this dynamic young youngster is already demonstrating his abilities. Bolton Wanderers may not be able to keep him for more than a season, but they should appreciate him while they can.
