Wycombe Wanderers are trying to improve their attacking options, and EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal that they have been offered a free agent with League One experience.
This summer, the Buckinghamshire side traded striker Richard Kone to Queens Park Rangers for £5 million. The 22-year-old scored 25 goals in 74 appearances at Adams Park before moving to the Championship, and despite a downturn in form at the close of last season, he will be sorely missed by Mike Dodds.
In his absence, Daniel Udoh has taken up the top position. Wycombe have signed James Tilley, Jamie Mullins, Caolan Boyd-Munce, Dan Casey, and Bradley Fink, but they may still benefit from an experienced striker. Wycombe have already had two bids turned down for Millwall’s Aidomo Emakhu this summer.
Now, EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal that Wycombe have the opportunity to acquire a former League One rival to help replace Kone, and he would cost them nothing.

Exclusive: Former Charlton striker Chuks Aneke offered to Wycombe.
EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal that the Chairboys have been offered former Charlton striker Chuks Aneke this summer.
The ex-Arsenal player has been without a club since being released by Wycombe’s recent promotion rivals, with his final game for the Addicks being a 1-0 victory over Leyton Orient in the League One play-off final.
Since leaving The Valley, there has been little news about the 32-year-old’s future move.
Aneke’s career has recently been hampered by injuries, with him missing 16 league games last season alone. This confined him to bench appearances when he was fit.
Nonetheless, he was a valuable member of Charlton’s squad, scoring crucial goals on multiple occasions and intimidating tired opponents with charges into the box. He made 138 appearances for the south Londoners during two terms, with a half-season at Birmingham in between.
He joined the Addicks on a free transfer from Milton Keynes Dons in 2019 and scored 27 goals while also assisting 14 times. Although prone to injury, when healthy, he would be an excellent choice for the Chairboys.
Chuks Aneke’s last trip to Wycombe saw him incur a straight red card
Wycombe fans will not forget the London-born attacker being sent off at the conclusion of Charlton’s 4-0 victory over the Chairboys in April.
The former Stevenage loanee was shown a red card in the third minute of additional time in the second half for barging into Wycombe’s Luke Leahy.
The Addicks challenged the ruling, but their star’s three-game suspension was upheld.

Aneke missed the first leg of the play-offs at Wycombe as a result, although he did come on to celebrate Matty Godden’s winning goal in the 81st minute of the second leg at The Valley.
If Wycombe does sign him, it will be a humorous reunion with Leahy.
