The defender Jhon Lucumí of Bologna is still being linked to Sunderland.
Despite Sunderland’s continued interest in a deal, Bologna CEO Claudio Fenucci has stated that defender Jon Lucumí “will stay” at the team this summer.
TuttoMercatoWeb reported earlier this week that the Black Cats are preparing an improved bid of about £23.7 million in an attempt to entice the Colombian international to leave his current employers. The Black Cats have been strongly linked with a swoop for the Colombian international in recent times.
According to transfer source Gianluca Di Marzio, Bologna is steadfast in their refusal to sell, even though the player is amenable to the possibility of a move to the Premier League. Lucumí did have a release clause written into his contract in Italy, but that expired earlier this summer.
