Given Southampton’s interest, Rob Edwards believes he “can’t sit here and lie” about Finn Azaz’s future at Middlesbrough.

Southampton seem to believe that Middlesbrough’s Finn Azaz may be the man to help guide them back to the Premier League, as they launched a bid for the Republic of Ireland international.

Middlesbrough rejected the proposal because they thought Azaz was worth more, and Southampton now has to match the bid in order to get the star.

Southampton is looking to add more forwards in light of rumors that Everton, Crystal Palace, and Spurs are interested in Saints attacker Tyler Dibling.

Since it became known that Southampton and Middlesbrough were in negotiations over Azaz, the Saints have been preparing for life without the highly sought-after young player.

In his press conference, Will Still expressed his thoughts on Finn Azaz, and Rob Edwards, the manager of Middlesbrough, has now made it clear where he stands on Southampton’s interest in the 24-year-old.
