Kieran McKenna has made Ipswich Town’s transfer stance on Luke Woolfenden, after he was linked with Coventry City and Stoke City, clear: they want him to stay.
When it was disclosed by Ben Jacobs that the Tractor Boys had rejected a bid from Frank Lampard’s side for Woolfenden, the journalist added that Ipswich were not interested in allowing the midfielder depart this summer.
The Ipswich Academy graduate helped the team gain promotion two seasons ago and is the clear backup to either Jacob Greaves or captain Dara O’Shea in case they are hurt, even if McKenna hasn’t used him yet this summer.

local business According to TWTD, the 26-year-old is also attracting interest from Stoke and, more recently, Watford. His manager, who has maintained that the team wants to keep the defender, is unconcerned about the interest in him.
“It’s clear that Luke is someone we’d like to keep,” stated McKenna, via the East Anglian Daily Times. “[He’s] a crucial player for the club and the squad, a lot of experience with the group and has worked with us for a long time, and is a very talented player.

Although we would prefer to keep him, things are never always easy. There is no denying that it has been a difficult summer in that regard, with several parties and desires involved.
