Nottingham Forest supporters had a great summer and a strong start to the season, but rumors indicate they may be in for a major surprise.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s team won a contentious decision to demote Crystal Palace from the UEFA Europa League to the Conference League this summer, and they managed to hold onto star player Morgan Gibbs-White after he was linked to a move to Tottenham.
Finally, they easily defeated Brentford 3-1 in their Premier League season opener.
Forest chairman Evangelos Marinakis was ‘considering’ taking Espírito Santo’s position as Forest manager, according to rumors that surfaced on Friday morning, despite the team’s stellar seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season and its return to Europe.
“Nottingham Forest is considering sacking Nuno Espírito Santo,” he stated.
“Tensions between the ownership and the Portuguese coach, also stemming from certain signings during this transfer window.”
