Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed the departure of midfielder Matt Butcher.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Chairboys on a permanent basis from Plymouth Argyle in January 2024, has departed Adams Park for League Two club Salford City.
On August 22, he signed a two-year contract with the Greater Manchester squad.
He played 43 games for South Buckinghamshire and scored four goals.
These include an equaliser against Portsmouth in a 3-1 home loss in March 2024, as well as a fantastic brace against Northampton Town.
His most notable goal for the club came in a 1-0 away victory over Bradford City in the EFL Trophy semi-final.
Butcher, who had joined only a month before, buried a well-taken low finish in injury time to put the Chairboys into the final for the first time in their existence, where they would eventually lose to Peterborough United at Wembley Stadium.

He remained a fixture in the team until November/December 2024, thanks to the outstanding performances of Aaron Morley and Cameron Humphreys, respectively.
In January, he moved on loan to Bristol Rovers, where he made 18 appearances. A statement from the Chairboys reads: “Everyone at Wycombe would like to thank Matt for his brilliant service on and off the pitch and wish him every success in the future.”
