The 11 players set to leave Notts County in 2026

There are an array of Notts County players set to leave Meadow Lane in the summer of 2026.

Notts County have established themselves successfully in League Two after their promotion to the fourth division in 2023. After narrowly missing out on promotion to League One via the play-offs last season, losing 2-0 on aggregate to AFC Wimbledon in the semi-finals, the Magpies will aim to take the next step this season, knocking on the door of promotion once more. Despite the enthusiasm around Meadow Lane, summer 2026 will undoubtedly be a hectic period for the club, with eleven players nearing the conclusion of their contracts.

Who will stay, and who will leave? We’ll have to wait and see. Football League World looks at the players who are likely to leave the club as free agents in 2026, using Transfermarkt data.

Alassana Jatta

One prominent player who will be out of contract at the conclusion of the season is Notts County’s star striker, Alassana Jatta. The Gambian international has been nothing short of remarkable since joining the club from Danish side Viborg in February 2024, scoring seven goals in ten games after signing in 2023-24.

Jatta maintained his exceptional performance for the Magpies last year, concluding the season with 19 goals and four assists in the regular season, establishing himself as one of League Two’s most formidable players for opponents.

Matthew Platt

Matthew Platt, a 27-year-old defender, appears to be nearing the end of his Notts County career. The dependable centre-back has been an important member of the Magpies’ squad since signing from Bradford City in the summer of 2024. Last season, Platt made 50 appearances in all competitions for Notts County, scoring four goals and establishing himself as an important member for the Magpies. With his abundance of EFL experience, having played for Bradford and Barrow and Notts County, Platt’s consistency in defence has been critical in helping his club win points and go to the play-offs.

His departure could be costly should he leave on a free next summer.

Keanan Bennetts

Keanan Bennetts, a German forward, signed a one-year contract with County from Austrian side Klagenfurt this summer and has appeared in every game this season. With the 26-year-old still yet to score in the Midlands despite strong displays thus far, only time will tell if he will be a valued asset at Meadow Lane.

Nicholas Tsaroulla

Versatile Cypriot wing-back Nicholas Tsaroulla has entered his second and likely final year at Notts County, following coming from Crawley Town as a free agent last summer. He has had a rapid start this campaign, having secured one goal and one assist in three league outings, form that cannot go ignored and may prove to be a significant component of the Notts County side that set their sights on the top seven come the conclusion of the season. Tsaroulla scored two goals and assisted two times in 38 league appearances during the 2024/25 season.

With the Cyprus international set to be a player that Notts County might release on a free transfer next summer, the club may reconsider if his outstanding performances continue.

Scott Robertson

Scott Robertson’s time at Notts County could come to an end in the summer of 2026, with injury difficulties being a recurring issue throughout his career. He’s a well-travelled midfielder in the EFL, having played for Fleetwood, Crewe, and Gillingham, to mention a few clubs. However, the Scotsman has made 25 league appearances in the last two seasons and has yet to play this season, which could be a problem given that his contract is about to expire.

Jack Hinchy

Oliver Norburn

Kellan Gordon

Rod McDonald

Curtis Edwards

Maziar Kouhyar

Mazair Kouhyar, an Afghanistan international, signed a one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months with National League side York City this summer following an excellent loan spell at Kidderminster last season. The 27-year-old scored 12 goals in 41 games for the Harriers last year, prompting the Magpies to take a chance on the tricky midfielder this season. Kouhyar has only been used as a substitute up to this point, so Notts County fans can be thrilled about what he will bring after moving up a division.
