Jack Marriott moves from Wrexham to Ipswich Town.
The 30-year-old, who joined the Red Dragons from Fleetwood Town in January 2024, contributed to the Welsh team’s consecutive Championship promotions.
However, Marriott and the Royals, who are now ranked second-bottom in the third division after losing their first five league games, have now reached an agreement for a three-year contract. “Jack is a fantastic addition to our group,” stated fellow former Blue Noel Hunt, who will be his manager. He has a keen eye for goal, is well-versed in this division, and contributes experience that will be extremely beneficial to our younger players. “He also understands what it takes to achieve because he was a member of a team that won promotion the previous season.
“We are thrilled to have him join the team, and I have no doubt that our supporters will love seeing him in a Reading shirt.” Despite making only three appearances for the Blues, Marriott started his career at Portman Road, where he advanced through the junior academy. Since then, he has participated in more than 400 games and scored more than 100 goals while playing for teams like Derby County, Peterborough United, and Luton Town.”We’re excited to get him into the squad and I’m sure our fans will enjoy watching him in a Reading shirt.”
Marriott began his career at Portman Road, where he progressed through the youth academy but made just three appearances for the Blues.
He has since played over 400 games and netted more than 100 goals during his career, playing for the likes of Luton Town, Peterborough United and Derby County.
