Fabrizio Romano: Crystal Palace Signed the £200,000-per-week Star Lately

Fabrizio Romano claims that during the summer transfer window, Crystal Palace attempted to capture Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher by offering him a loan. The Eagles had to try to replace Eberechi Eze, who moved to Arsenal, another London team, during the busy summer transfer window. Along with the arrival of Christantus Uche and Yeremi Pino as new offensive reinforcements, there was also conjecture on Marc Guehi’s future, as his contract expires next year.
The England international even had a physical with the Merseyside club after Liverpool agreed to sign Guehi, according to GIVEMESPORT senior journalist Fabrizio Romano. Palace ultimately discontinued the agreement since they were unable to locate a successor. Romano claims that Atletico Madrid received a loan bid from Crystal Palace for their previous loanee Gallagher. With no intention of allowing him to go on loan during the summer transfer window, the Spanish powerhouses turned down the offer.
Gallagher formerly played for Palace after joining the team on loan from Chelsea. He currently makes an estimated £200,000 per week at Atletico. They made an attempt to sign the England international during the summer transfer window, which is not surprising given how well he performed at Selhurst Park. Gallagher is a vital member of Diego Simeone’s squad even though he isn’t a sure starter for Atletico. Given how late in the window it was, it was always going to be hard to pry him away from the Spanish powerhouses on loan. Although it could need to be a long-term agreement, it will be intriguing to watch whether Palace makes another attempt to get Gallagher during the January transfer window or next summer.
Palace supporters may view the summer window as a success because they were able to keep Guehi and replace Eze, but the club may have a different opinion. Losing Guehi would have surely hurt them on the pitch, but since his contract is up in the summer, there’s a good chance he’ll leave the team for free unless they can get rid of him in the January transfer window.
