‘No doubt’ – Former England manager makes Sheffield Wednesday admission

Sam Allardyce has admitted that he’d have loved to have the chance to manage at Sheffield Wednesday during his career.

The 70-year-old, who has previously worked in the dugouts of Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion, Everton, Sunderland, and many other clubs, hasn’t returned to management since departing Elland Road in 2023, and it appears that he may have managed his final game. However, he recently praised the atmosphere at Hillsborough and the size of the Owls as a football club, stating that it was a position he would have been extremely interested in.

It’s been a long time since ‘Big Sam’ was in the dugout at S6, with his most recent visit being a 1-0 defeat for his West Ham United side in the 2012 FA Cup, but he had a decent record there with Bolton Wanderers and has pleasant recollections of the venue.

Wednesday return to action in a few weeks after the international break, when they face Bristol City, and Henrik Pedersen will be hoping to see his side finally win their first Championship game of the season.
