Joel Piroe earned the Championship’s Golden Boot title and scored 19 goals last season, but there are clear concerns about whether he is suitable for Leeds United in the Premier League this year.
Although Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are also strikers for Leeds, some supporters believe Piroe will perform well this season. Piroe and Ao Tanaka had a great summer vacation together, but the latter is now more likely to start regularly. Piroe has previously received public criticism from Gary Neville, and some speculated that the Dutchman might be sold this summer. For instance, Graham Smyth thinks Piroe might have departed Leeds during the most recent transfer window. Sam Byram, Alex Cairns, Jayden Bogle, Willy Gnonto, and Piroe were all questioned in a variety of ways when speaking on Sky Sports. They were quizzed on a variety of subjects to gauge their level of agreement. “I could go pro in another sport?” was the question posed to the athletes. Gnonto reacted with shock to Piroe’s use of the phrase “strongly agree,” saying at the Dutchman, “Bro, you are confident, you know?” “You couldn’t go pro in another sport?” Piroe retorted. If Georginio Rutter could finish like Piroe, he would be at Real Madrid, according to former Leeds defender Tony Dorigo.
