Undroppable: Thomas Frank Has ‘Transformed’ Tottenham Star – BBC Pundit.
Pape Matar Sarr, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, has ‘changed’ under Thomas Frank this season, according to
BBC analyst Troy Deeney, who has used him in a shift.
Despite a little setback prior to the international break, where they lost to Bournemouth at home, Spurs have had a
successful start to the season under new boss Frank. Apart from that, Tottenham has won their last three Premier
League games this season, including a thrilling win over West Ham United, a rival team in London, over the
weekend.
Tottenham are heading in a new direction at the moment, with Frank coming in to replace Ange Postecoglou earlier
in the year. Daniel Levy has now also left the club, meaning things could also change off the pitch in terms of
recruitment and strategy, and the new era has gotten off to a strong start in the opening weeks.
Pape Sarr ‘Transformed’ for Tottenham This Season
Sarr’s effort against West Ham in the Premier League over the weekend earned him a spot in BBC pundit Deeney’s
team of the week. According to the former Watford striker, Sarr has ‘changed’ from the previous season and is
becoming ‘better and better’ since he has been given a little more leeway under Frank this season.
Under Frank, Sarr is taking on a more advanced role, and it’s beginning to bring out the best in him, particularly in
the opposition box. Frank has managed to fit two number 10s into the lineup despite acquiring Xavi Simons during
the summer transfer window, with Sarr dropping deeper when Spurs aren’t in possession of the ball.
It will be interesting to see how Frank sets up when he has the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison
available, but for now, he’s managed to get the best out of his current starting XI. Tottenham are now preparing to
face Villarreal in a tough test upon their return to the Champions League, hosting the Spanish side on Tuesday.
