Chaplin, who led Town in scoring during both of their promotion campaigns, unexpectedly left on deadline day to sign a season-long loan with a January recall provision with his boyhood club, Pompey. Davis says he can’t wait to see the man he claims “is like a brother,” even though he won’t be able to play at Portman Road when the clubs meet this weekend.
