What ‘impatient’ Kevin Nagle thinks about Huddersfield Town and a Premier League return.

Last Monday, for the first time since they relocated from the old Leeds Road to the Accu Stadium in 1994, the team became the exclusive owners of the venue.

Additionally, many believe that the Terriers will be there or close to fighting for the League One crown because of the financial support they received in the summer before the season began well.

Re-entering the Championship is ultimately the short-term objective, but Huddersfield’s management doesn’t seem to want to waste any more time there before guiding the team back to the Premier League.

Jake Edwards, the CEO of Huddersfield, told Yorkshire Live that the team is “laser focused” on winning the Championship again right now, with the intention of going on to the Premier League.

“We’ve got our dream of what it might look like (long term), and the chairman is ambitious and impatient, and he won’t want to wait ten years,” he said.

We’re clear: we want to return our team to the top division, and we want the infrastructure to enable it. We also want to make our town a destination for events, concerts, shopping, and sports greatness. We want people to come here and have a fantastic time.”

The Terriers got a taste of that when Manchester City came to town in the EFL Cup third round, and Edwards stated that “those are the nights we want to have more of, and everyone’s working in that direction.”

Nagle and company want to restore the regularity of those games, which haven’t existed since 2019, when Huddersfield’s brief two-year stint in the Premier League came to an end.

Although it hasn’t been ideal, Lee Grant will undoubtedly be hoping that his team’s away performance can start to match their nearly flawless home run in the early going of the season. Nevertheless, as a new manager, he is displaying many encouraging signs, and the announcement of the stadium purchase will only serve to give Huddersfield a much-needed boost.

They have to walk before they can run at the moment, but you get the sense that once they are permitted to run, Kevin Nagle’s high standards will soon be fulfilled on the pitch.
