Jones: ‘I’VE HAD SOME REALLY HARD BATTLES AT PRESTON.’

When his team plays Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday, Nathan Jones anticipates another tough match. Jones is happy with what he has seen from his team, but he emphasised that there is always more space for progress. The Addicks have gone undefeated in their previous four Sky Bet Championship games.
“We always believed that we are good enough to play at this level,” he said. “We’re making great strides, but we’re still a long way from where we want to be. “I’ve had some really challenging bouts at Preston; it’s always a tough game to attend. We played really well there last year, but we certainly should have gained more from the match. “They are a well-coached, well-drilled club that has signed well, so we have a preview of what is to come. It will be the most difficult exam. They’ve been playing really well.
The manager also offered an update on Josh Edwards, who was substituted during last weekend’s match against Blackburn Rovers, and new acquisition Onel Hernández. “Josh will likely be unavailable for a longer duration than a few weeks, which is unfortunate as he has been in exceptional form. “Onel is now in contention and was available on Tuesday night. He has undergone an additional two days of training and further integration with the team, so he is prepared to participate.”
