Tyler Bindon sends Reading farewell message as Nottingham Forest arrival beckons
Given his incredible season at League One Reading, Tyler Bindon will be expected to make a big impact when he
joins Nottingham Forest in the summer.
Those who have closely followed Bindon’s development in League One have estimated that he will be worth over £30
million in a few years due to the strength of his influence at Reading.
Prior to Forest signing Bindon on deadline day, he was a total stranger to the Reds. However, week after week, his
performances have drawn notice, to the point where Bindon was named New Zealand’s 2024 Emerging Talent.
Bindon sent a heartfelt farewell on social media after winning Reading’s Player of the Year award as a farewell to the
Royals.

As he makes his belated debut as a Premier League player, Bindon has already voiced his delight about preseason at
Forest. However, he was obviously eager to thank everyone at Reading before to this.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the staff, players, fans, and everyone connected to the club,” he wrote on
Instagram.
“Being able to call myself a Royal has been an incredible honour for the last two years. Every encounter and every
second has been amazing. The memories will be with me forever. I will miss all of you. I am thankful for everything.
The 20-year-old shown amazing character, and Nuno Espirito Santo will undoubtedly be even more thrilled to have
Bindon join the Forest team now that he has the maturity to support his skill.
But at Reading, where manager Noel Hunt sent a message of his own to the outgoing Bindon, he would be greatly
missed.
Reading manager hails ‘special’ Tyler Bindon upon exit
Bindon hasn’t been the only Forest success story in the EFL this season, as Dale Taylor won Wigan Athletic’s Player
of the Season too, but the Kiwi’s impact at Reading seems incomparable.
This sentiment is echoed in how Hunt spoke of Bindon to the Reading Chronicle, heaping even more praise on the
centre-back.
“He [Bindon] has been enormous all season, since he came in the door,” stated Hunt. When he joined me for his first
training session, I recall remarking, “I might as well quit my job if we don’t sign him.”
He was unlike any 17-year-old I had ever seen. He has shown himself to be a unique boy. We wish him the best
because he is a wonderful child, a wonderful character, and he comes from an incredible family.
The possibility of acquisitions will make the preseason intriguing enough, but it will also be interesting to watch how
well Bindon adjusts to life at the City Ground.
