YORK City’s upcoming play-off semi-final is officially a sell out for home supporters.
Adam Hinshelwood’s York side will welcome one of either Oldham Athletic or FC Halifax Town to the LNER Community Stadium on Tuesday, May 20 (7.45pm), with the winner progressing through to the Vanarama National League play-off final.
City will find out their opponent on Wednesday evening when Oldham welcome Halifax to Boundary Park (7.45pm), whilst one of Rochdale or Southend United will take on Forest Green Rovers for their spot in the play-off final.
York will be incredibly backed in their play-off semi-final at the LNER Community Stadium, with the football club confirming that all home tickets for the fixture have officially sold out – in under two hours of going on general sale.
As the Press previously reported, over 2,400 tickets were sold in just over 24 hours after going on sale to season ticket holders, after they became available at noon on Wednesday of last week.
The club had initially made it so that up to eight tickets could be purchased during general sale, but after feedback from supporters, that amount was reduced to four.
After general sale became available at noon today, tickets have officially sold out to home supporters.
It means that City could either match or better their current record attendance at the LNER Community Stadium, after 7,918 – 1,453 of which were away supporters – attended York’s recent 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic.
It also looks as if the Minstermen will have more supporters than their last play-off match to be held at the LNER Community Stadium, which was the Vanarama National League North final in 2022 – which stood at 7,448.
