An outlandish swap deal between Man United and their Premier League rivals could work a treat this summer
Manchester United is preparing for a hectic summer transfer window, with many major changes on the horizon. They have their sights set on a number of fascinating new players, but they are also looking to offload some of their own.
Jadon Sancho, who is nearing the end of his loan stay at Chelsea, is one of the prime candidates for the axe. The winger is expected to leave Old Trafford permanently this summer, having had a far from ideal transition to the Theatre of Dreams.

This now forces United to rethink their strategy for offloading the England international. We’ve come up with an intriguing avenue for the Red Devils to pursue, which entails doing business with Bournemouth. It raises some eyebrows, and it would undoubtedly startle many if it came true, yet there is some logic behind the craziness.
Man United could strike swap deal for Antoine Semenyo
United are looking to strengthen their attack and have identified Antoine Semenyo as one of their top targets. A number of reports have claimed that Ruben Amorim and co. are interested in signing the Bournemouth star, with a £70 million valuation mentioned.
However, this amount may be out of United’s price range, especially given the necessity for other additions and the fact that their Champions League prospects are totally dependent on whether they win the Europa League.
The Red Devils might reduce the price by presenting a deal that includes Sancho. With his future elsewhere, United are hoping to finalize a trade. Chelsea still has an obligation to sign Sancho permanently for around £25 million. However, it appears that the Blues will instead want to cut their losses and pay the £5 million sum required to terminate that clause, thereby returning Sancho to United.
If that happens, United might propose a swap deal involving £40-45 million plus Sancho to complete a deal for Semenyo. The Cherries have had a strong season and will try to build on it after the summer. However, they appear to be losing several key players, notably defenders Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen. If Semenyo decides to depart, Bournemouth will need to sign a new attacker.
Many people forget how devastating Sancho can be in attack because of his difficult start to the Premier League season. During his final season with Borussia Dortmund, the winger provided 16 goals and 20 assists across all competitions. When firing on all cylinders, Sancho is a force to be reckoned with, and he would most likely be one of the first names on the squad roster.
How likely is the player swap deal?
Sancho has shown glimpses of his outstanding ability while on loan at Chelsea, scoring four goals and providing ten assists across all competitions. However, he has not been a consistent starter this season, and he will be ready to sign with a team that will make him a focal point in attack.
Bournemouth is very likely to accomplish this, and both sides will benefit from his arrival. Sancho is very experienced with European football, which the Cherries are aiming for, and he might provide a wealth of experience in addition to his talent. However, even though the Cherries will finish substantially higher than United this season, Sancho may be hesitant to join a team that has finished in the middle of the league the last two seasons.
According to reports, Sancho would also like to return to Dortmund. With his attention elsewhere, it may be difficult to persuade him to change his mind, no matter how many minutes he has.
For United, however, this would be a fantastic transfer. Not only would they conclude Sancho’s leave following the protracted dispute, but they would also sign one of their top targets as they seek to entirely erase their poor Premier League season.
