Liam Manning a ‘natural’ fit for Norwich City head coach job.

Don Goodman, a Championship analyst, believes that the links between Liam Manning and the Norwich City head coach post make perfect sense.
Bristol City manager Manning has been a frequent topic of conversation among Canaries fans trying to anticipate who their next manager will be, since his favoured style of play and background in youth football appear to fulfil sporting director Ben Knapper’s qualifications. The 39-year-old was also born in Norwich and attended the club’s academy before moving to bitter rivals Ipswich Town as a youngster, his name rising in the betting lines after the Robins were knocked out of the play-offs by Sheffield United. Goodman believes the talk about Manning is unsurprising, with his managerial experience an added bonus after temporary head coach Jack Wilshere was thrown out of the running owing to a lack of it.
“It would be natural for somebody like Liam Manning, who has done brilliantly for Bristol City (to be discussed),” he told Football League World. “It’s simply a natural link. “It does not surprise me, nor would it surprise me if Norwich City attempted to entice him, because one thing is certain: Norwich City must get this job right.
“It appears that Norwich and Ben Knapper plan to take their time. The only certainty is that it will not be Jack Wilshere, and that the process has begun, but it will not be completed soon. Knapper is still considering his possibilities in the early phases of the hiring process, with several names in the running. Russell Martin isn’t one of them at this stage, with no communication from City with him despite his public proclamations that he’s on the market for his next position. It is hoped that an appointment would be made in the coming weeks, well ahead of preseason, although no announcement is expected soon.
