BREAKING NEWSNottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo gives health update on Taiwo Awoniyi after striker was placed in induced coma with horror injury

Despite Taiwo Awoniyi’s continued hospitalization on Friday, Nuno Espirito Santo thinks the Nigerian can be reunited with his Nottingham Forest teammates next week.

After colliding with a post during Forest’s 2-2 tie with Leicester last Saturday, Awoniyi suffered a ruptured intestine that required immediate surgery to heal.

According to Mail Sport, Forest players will cheer for Awoniyi on Sunday when they play West Ham. They then play Chelsea at the City Ground on May 25, and Nuno thinks they must win both games to have a shot at qualifying for the Champions League the following season.

According on the information we have, he must remain under observation at the hospital for a minimum of five days, he stated. I’ll make an effort to come as soon as I can. His family is there, and he is in wonderful hands.

We can see he’s doing well since the players are always talking in their groups. All he needs is time.

“Hopefully, he will be able to join us next week.” This season has been really difficult for him, but he is a great boy. We’re very sorry.

Nuno said, “He had surgery, and thank God, it went well.” He is now being monitored, but he is doing better; we still need to wait for the doctors to approve visits.

Because of the worry over the injury and the circumstances he faced, it has been really challenging.

It’s been extremely challenging for us and everyone else. The worry over his condition and the circumstances he found himself in has been awful.

“Even two victories at this stage of the competition might not be enough, but Nuno is urging his players to make one last push.”

“This is our last chance to try to fight for the Champions League. It’s as clear as that. It’s something so huge for us and everyone in the club has to give an extra effort to achieve it.”

Forest has tumbled out of the Champions League spots after spending the majority of the season in the top five, despite the fact that last weekend’s disappointing result against Leicester at least guaranteed they would play in European football for the first time this century.”
