3 Wingers Middlesbrough Should Eye This Summer as Ben Doak, Samuel Iling-Junior Depart

 

Middlesbrough are set for a busy summer transfer window as they prepare to fill the void left by the departures of loan stars Ben Doak and Samuel Iling-Junior. Both players return to their parent clubs after contributing flashes of brilliance during their time at the Riverside. 2. Josh Bowler (Nottingham Forest)

Currently on the fringes at Nottingham Forest, Josh Bowler could be tempted by a move to the Riverside if regular minutes are on offer. The former Blackpool winger impressed during his time in the Championship with his direct style, quick feet, and eye for goal. Bowler is capable of playing on either flank and could bring much-needed penetration to Boro’s attack. At 25, he’s entering his peak years and would offer both experience and energy.

 

3. Jaden Philogene (Hull City)

Arguably the most ambitious of the three targets, Jaden Philogene lit up the Championship last season with a string of standout performances for Hull City. The England youth international possesses electric pace, flair, and composure in front of goal—traits Boro have lacked on the wings. While his price tag could be significant, especially if Hull are reluctant to sell, Philogene would represent a statement signing and a clear indication of Middlesbrough’s promotion intent.

 

Replacing the talent and potential of Doak and Iling-Junior won’t be easy, but Boro must aim high. With Michael Carrick’s tactical vision beginning to take shape and the financial backing of the club evident in recent windows, targeting young, hungry wingers with proven Championship pedigree could be the difference between another season of inconsistency and a genuine push for the Premier League.
