Huddersfield Town are reportedly interested in Everton academy graduate Ryan Ledson following his Preston North End release.
The curtain is going down on Ledson’s seven-year spell with the Lilywhites, who signed him from Oxford United in 2018.
After 215 appearances, the 27-year-old is looking for new opportunities as a free agent after Preston confirmed his contract would not be renewed.
According to the Daily Record, Huddersfield are one of the clubs interested in a player who was once predicted for a bright career in the Premier League.

Huddersfield Town’s potential transfer battle for Ryan Ledson
Perhaps unexpectedly given his pedigree, Ledson has been connected with a number of clubs. Huddersfield’s League One opponents, Bolton Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle, are also thought to be interested.
Ledson’s former club Oxford, as well as Scottish team Hibernian, have expressed interest in him.
Hibs are thought to have expressed an interest and hope that the allure of European football proves strong.
What Ryan Ledson could bring to Huddersfield Town
Ledson could fit in well in League One after spending the last seven seasons in the Championship.
He is an adept technician noted for his ball-playing ability and might be a big acquisition for a third-tier club.
While at Everton, he represented England at various youth levels and played with several current Three Lions players.
Huddersfield Town’s rebuild mission
The Terriers have released many senior players since the end of their dismal 2024/25 season. A new head coach is needed to assemble a squad capable of competing at the top end of League One. Owner Kevin Nagle has vowed to “do better” in the stands at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Earlier this month, he said: “No words I can say will make you or me feel better about this season. All I can say is that you will have my time, passion, and money this offseason as we work day and night to get this right.
“In all of my years of team ownership, across ALL sports, I have never seen a collapse like this midseason. Among other things, we plan to eradicate that sickness throughout the offseason. It begins with leadership and culture.
“And if that rubs some wrong within the building, those are the ones that don’t need to be here next year. And if you think I’m passing blame, I’m not. It starts and ends with ME. And I have to do better, and I WILL do better.”
