European club make decision over potential €2m deal for QPR man.
According to O Jogo, Hevertton Santos will return to QPR this summer after Vitoria Guimaraes declined to exercise his €2 million buy option.
Marti Cifuentes, QPR’s manager, is still on gardening leave, indicating that things could change this summer.
A new appointment appears unavoidable, though the Spaniard’s future is uncertain. Since joining Hammarby IF, he has piqued the interest of other clubs due to his impressive performance in West London.
There will also be movement in the transfer market, with new signings required. Fringe players may leave to make room for newcomers, particularly if management changes.
For the time being, Heverton Santos, a Brazilian full-back, will remain with QPR.
Vitoria Guimaraes had a €2 million buy option in their winter loan agreement with Heverton. However, O Jogo says they will not use the clause, so Heverton will return to Loftus Road.
It is unclear what he will find when he returns to England this summer.
Heverton’s move to the Portuguese top-flight came as a surprise given his struggles at QPR during the first half of the season.
The 24-year-old appeared twice in the UEFA Conference League for Vitoria, starting against Real Betis as they were eliminated in the round of 16.
Overall, he made eight appearances for the club, providing depth and cover at right back. Ultimately, he was unable to secure a starting position and was an unused substitute in six of the last seven league games.
As a result, it’s not surprising that Vitoria isn’t planning to spend €2 million to keep the Brazilian permanently.

QPR had high hopes for Hevertton after his arrival last summer, but he struggled with the transition to Championship football, prompting his loan. Changes in the dugout may give him another chance to stake his claim for a place in the team after his loan expires.
However, it does not seem unlikely that the Hoops will quickly strike a deal to sell the full-back once he returns to West London.
A sale could allow the Rs to recoup their losses on him, just a year after bringing him over from Estrela Amadora. Heverton is expected to return to QPR this summer, though the club’s plans remain unknown.
