Sheffield Wednesday: Danny Rohl exit update emerges amid Will Still, Southampton news.

Danny Rohl is reportedly “considering multiple options” as speculation about his Sheffield Wednesday future intensifies.
The German’s tenure at Hillsborough began on a shaky note when his players were not paid on time in March, nearly resulting in a three-window transfer ban – they were paid one day before the deadline.
Between then and the end of the season, his responses to questions about his future were always ambiguous, never leaning one way or the other, adding to the uncertainty about how long he will stay.
Rohl, who signed a contract extension with the Owls last summer that allowed him to stay until after the end of the 2026/27 season, then dropped some major hints after the 46th game of the Championship season, indicating that he was likely to leave the club he miraculously saved from relegation two seasons ago.

The player claimed an agreement with club owner Dejphon Chansiri regarding his future, which the Owls denied. He also stated, “I had a fantastic time at Sheffield Wednesday,” according to German outlet Kicker.
Danny Rohl, Sheffield Wednesday uncertainty rises.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Rohl is “considering multiple options.” According to talkSPORT, the German player is expected to leave Hillsborough before the start of the new season.
The 36-year-old has been linked with Leicester City, RB Leipzig, and Southampton. However, his chances of returning to St Mary’s, where he previously worked as an assistant to Ralph Hassenhuttl, appear slimmer as they have reportedly made an approach to Will Still.
The Saints may not be the first choice for Wednesday’s summer move due to interest from top European leagues such as the Bundesliga and Premier League, according to The Athletic.
Rohl has expressed a desire to manage in one of the two powerhouse divisions in interviews since the regular season ended.
Sheffield Wednesday must push to have Danny Rohl’s situation resolved as soon as possible.
The 36-year-old is expected to leave the club this summer if they press him to make a decision soon. Unless they want to fire him, they don’t always get to choose when he leaves. That would be a bad move because they stand to profit from Rohl’s departure thanks to the compensation clauses in his contract.
So it’s not entirely up to Wednesday what or when this will happen. They have some control over what happens this summer. AKA, what does the Owls’ future without Rohl look like?
They must have a plan for what will happen if he decides to see if the grass is greener elsewhere. To be able to put those plans into action, they must first understand what their manager intends.
