Sam Houston basketball players Kyren Talbert and Carter Malveaux made their college decisions official Thursday by signing their National Letters of Intent to play at Southeastern Arkansas Tech University.
Malveux and Talbert said getting the opportunity to play at the next level and sharing the court at SAU Tech is exactly what they hoped for.
“It means achieving a major goal and I get to carry on my athletic career and I just thank God for it. Playing with each other for so long and we’ve been around each other. We work together on and off the court. I feel like we understand each other and the chemistry has just been there,” Talbert said.
” It means the world to me. This is something I prayed for for a long time, something I worked for for a long time. So, you know, it’s everything I’ve ever wanted. It’s going to be real fun.
That’s somebody that I’m in the gym with 24-7. Iron sharpens iron. We made our legacy here and we’re going to make our legacy there together,” Malveaux said.
Classmates, family, and staff surrounded both student-athletes for their special day, Talbert and Malveaux each said they wouldn’t be in this position without the support of their loved ones who pushed them to reach their goals.
