Jimmie Johnson to drive two-seater at Indy 500 with NFL legend Tom Brady

Later this month, Jimmie Johnson will pilot the IndyCar two-seater at the Indianapolis 500, and NFL legend Tom Brady will be riding along with him. Johnson is a former IndyCar driver and the 2022 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year in addition to his seven NASCAR Cup victories.
Brady is his own kind of a seven-time champion, having won seven Super Bowls and been named Most Valuable Player five times. The two-seater’s distinctive design has been used multiple times in the past to provide VIP guests with the whole IndyCar experience. Alex Rodriguez, a legend in Major League Baseball, most recently drove around the track in the two-seater in St. Pete. In recent years, it has also included Lady Gaga, Diplo, Bon Jovi, Simu Liu, Mark Wahlberg, and much others. Brady and Johnson will lead the parade laps at Indy for the 109th Indianapolis 500.
In a statement, Johnson declared, “I adore the Indianapolis 500.” “The enthusiasm and intensity surrounding the ‘500’ are unlike anything I have ever encountered. Without a doubt, the best racing experience I’ve had outside of the car is during pre-race festivities. Seeing the stands packed once more and being a part of the program makes me very happy. Being able to repeat the experience and share it with another seven-time champion makes me feel incredibly honored.
The NASCAR Hall of Famer will fly to Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina to compete in NASCAR’s longest race, the Coca-Cola 600, after giving Brady a tour of IMS. Johnson will be making his 700th Cup Series start. His final start came in the season-opening Daytona 500, where he finished an amazing third. He currently competes part-time as a co-owner with Legacy Motor Club. Kyle Larson, a fellow NASCAR Cup winner, will try to do both races on the same day, but it’s not quite the “Double.”
