Sunderland Confirm Additional Wembley Tickets Available from Tuesday Afternoon
Sunderland AFC have announced that they have secured an extra allocation of 1,000 tickets for the highly anticipated Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium this Saturday. The additional tickets come after continued dialogue between the club and the English Football League (EFL).
These new tickets will be released at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20, and will be available exclusively through the club’s official ticketing site at eticketing.co.uk/safc. However, access to the additional seats will be limited to supporters qualifying under phase two of Sunderland’s ticket distribution plan.
This phase includes fans who hold 2024–25 full or part-season cards, those who purchased a six-game bundle during the campaign, and supporters who already have 2025–26 season cards. The club has made it clear that no seat relocations will be permitted during this phase. If there are any tickets left over after phase two, Sunderland will release further details on additional sale phases.
When Will Sunderland Fans Receive Their Wembley Tickets?
With anticipation growing ahead of the final against Sheffield United, Sunderland have shared an important update regarding ticket delivery to supporters who have already secured their seats.
To streamline the distribution process, all tickets will be delivered electronically starting on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The club sent an email notification to fans, confirming that tickets will be sent to the email address of the lead booker. Supporters are strongly urged to double-check and update the contact information associated with their club accounts to avoid any issues.
All tickets for the play-off final will be print-at-home only, and no duplicate or reprint options will be available, making it vital for fans to check their inboxes, print their tickets ahead of time, and come prepared for matchday.
“Upon purchasing your tickets, you will receive an email confirmation with details of your order. Tickets for the game will be emailed to the lead booker from Wednesday, 21st May 2025. All tickets are print at home, and there are no duplicates or re-prints for this fixture. Please ensure the email on your account is up to date.”
Sheffield United have issued a similar message to their supporters, stating that PDF tickets will also be distributed by email within the next 48 hours. In their announcement, they clarified that once tickets have been sent, no changes or refunds will be possible. Fans are encouraged to print tickets
How Will Fans Learn of Any Changes to Tickets or Allocations?
Supporters of both Sunderland and Sheffield United have been advised that any modifications, updates, or additional details related to ticketing and allocations for the Championship play-off final will be communicated directly by each club, not the EFL.
This means fans should stay tuned to their club’s official communication channels—such as websites, social media, and ticketing portals—for the latest announcements. Any changes to ticket availability, sales windows, or seating arrangements will be handled at the club level, and not through the league.
For any questions or issues regarding tickets, fans are encouraged to contact the ticket office of their respective club, as they are fully responsible for managing and distributing their own allocations for the final at Wembley.
