Birmingham City should seek to the relegated teams to help bolster their roster as they get ready to return to the Championship.
The aim of Birmingham City‘s ambitious summer transfer window is to “do an Ipswich” and secure consecutive promotions.
We know that the Blues will be one of the largest spenders in the EFL and will target five key positions in the summer.
Birmingham already has a strong team that won League One, but the Championship is a far more difficult league, so it’s no surprise that the Midlands team is making huge ambitions.
Luton Town has ordered Thelo Aasgaard to leave.
Luton Town will be playing in League One next season after suffering back-to-back relegations from the top division, whereas Birmingham is now on an upward trend.
After a turbulent season, the Hatters attempted to turn things around by acquiring Thelo Aasgaard in January.
He was told to leave Wigan Athletic after failing to keep Luton up after signing with them.
Speaking following his club’s relegation, Norway manager Stale Solbakken advised the 23-year-old Norway international to look for a transfer.
It was a calculated risk, he added. When Thelo switched clubs, Luton found themselves in a challenging position, but it goes without saying that playing for the national team in League One is challenging.

How Willum Willumsson of Birmingham City is comparable to Thelo Aasgaard
Aasgaard is a born offensive midfielder who can play off the left as well as in a somewhat deeper midfield position.
He scored eight goals and gave two assists in 26 League One games for Wigan before joining Luton.
Willum Willumsson would probably be his main rival for a starting spot if Birmingham were to make a move.
Last season, Willumsson played 41 games in the third division, primarily in the 10 spot but also on the right. He scored six goals and provided eight assists in those matches.
Aasgaard would be the ideal choice to bolster Birmingham’s attacking midfield department, but the 26-year-old is still a good alternative. Birmingham is anticipated to want another promotion next season, so adding quality depth to compete in every position will be essential.
