Trabzonspor and Besiktas remain interested in Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill, whose contract expires this summer.
The former Bristol City player was instrumental in Scott Parker’s side’s rapid promotion back to the Premier League, with the 28-year-old scoring 18 goals and providing six assists in 42 Championship matches.

The Clarets’ club captain will surely be connected with transfers away from the club, with his contract situation at Burnley fuelling the suspicions of many suitors about a potential free transfer.
Burnley disclosed in their released and retained list that talks with Brownhill are ongoing about a new contract, although multiple suitors are hovering as the summer transfer window approaches.

This is not the first time Trabzonspor has been linked with a transfer for Josh Brownhill; the club’s bid for the midfielder was rejected in August 2024.
However, according to a new report from Gune Bakis, Trabzonspor are still hoping to lure Brownhill away from Turf Moor, but will face rising competition from Wolves and Everton.
Fellow Turkish giants Besiktas are also rumoured to be interested in the Burnley star, with the Black Eagles apparently contacting Brownhill’s agent to learn about the player’s wants before beginning discussions.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a Manchester United great and current Besiktas manager, has given his clearance for the transfer to take place as he attempts to stamp his authority on the playing team this summer, despite the 52-year-old only taking over at the turn of the year.
Burnley must do everything it can to keep Josh Brownhill.

Brownhill, an established player in Burnley’s engine room, could finally make the step up in class to become a regular and successful Premier League player, with his defensive and offensive transition abilities standing him in good stead to provide regular attacking contributions in England’s top division.
Burnley will be hoping he can continue his growth in claret and blue, as the club sorely needs a youngster with such creative potential to assist them score enough goals to avoid another dreaded immediate relegation.
Negotiating a new contract for Brownhill could be the deciding element in whether Burnley can return to their former Premier League status, but moves to Everton may be enticing with the Toffees moving into their brand-new stadium.
The Clarets must make a statement of intent and go all out to ensure Brownhill’s future, allowing them to construct a team around him and lead them to a successful first season back in the top division.
