Sky Sports ‘understand’ Celtic fire sale beckons as five players to be made available for transfer

Celtic’s summer transfer window is almost here, with only one game remaining before it.

Of course, the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen takes place this afternoon, with Brendan Rodgers aiming to complete his third domestic treble as Celtic manager.

Then the main focus can shift to possible incomings and outgoings at Parkhead. Reo Hatate has been connected with Udinese, while Leeds United and Newcastle United are thought to be interested in Nicolas Kuhn.

Daizen Maeda will undoubtedly grab notice, but the big news on Saturday morning involves a lot of Celtic periphery players.

Celtic ‘open to offers’ for Palma, Welsh, Lagerbielke, Kwon, and Tilio
Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has indicated that Celtic will need to clear out a large amount of deadwood this summer.

As part of a comprehensive Celtic update, Joseph reports that the Bhoys will make five current players available for transfer:

Joseph copied every line of the article: “In terms of outgoings, it’s understood the club will be open to offers for Luis Palma, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Stephen Welsh, Hyeok-kyu Kwon and Marco Tilio.”

Current status of five undesired Celtic players.
Luis Palma will shortly return to Celtic after a loan spell at Olympiacos. The Honduran winger played 12 games in all competitions as the Greek giants cruised to victory in the top league.

Palma only scored one goal and assisted one, which is unlikely to persuade Brendan Rodgers to keep the 25-year-old.

Gustaf Lagerbielke has been on loan at FC Twente, who are expected to finish sixth in the Eredivisie unless a dramatic goal swing occurs on the season’s last day this Sunday.

The Swedish defender has been a success for the club, having appeared in 31 games and scored five goals.
