Bradford City ‘in talks’ to sign former Barnsley FC defender after Huddersfield Town release

Matty Pearson, a former defender for Barnsley and Huddersfield Town, is allegedly in negotiations to join Bradford City.
A seasoned center-back, the 31-year-old’s contract with Huddersfield is about to end, making him a free agent.

His four-year tenure with the Terriers came to an end, and he was one of the high-profile casualties in the team’s end-of-season purge.

Matty Pearson has been released by Huddersfield Town.

Matty Pearson, a “interest” of Bradford City, is reportedly viewed as a possible crucial player for Graham Alexander’s team, which need some improvement to be League One-ready.

With more than 500 games over his career, the defender has a plethora of experience.

During his tenure at Huddersfield, he scored 17 goals and provided leadership in the center of defense. He also poses a goal threat.

Matty Pearson made 135 appearances for Huddersfield Town.

The career of Matty Pearson thus far
Although the defender was developed in the Blackburn Rovers youth, FC Halifax Town was the team that offered him his first significant professional position.

His adventures with the Shaymen led to his return to the EFL, initially with Accrington Stanley and then with Barnsley, Huddersfield, and Luton Town.

Despite being around for a long, Pearson has stated that he wants to continue playing until he becomes 40.

“I started doing my coaching badges trying to learn a little bit of that side of the game as well and passing on little bits of information I wish I’d known when I was younger,” he said in a statement published last month.

“I’m just getting a sense of it and how it works; it’s just my UEFA B.” I intend to continue performing until I turn forty.

Bradford League One preparations for the city
One advantage of Bradford’s automatic promotion was that it allowed them to start working on summer business sooner.

It’s best to find out your fate early on, and the Bantams didn’t waste any time in acquiring Max Power, a former midfielder for Sunderland and Wigan Athletic.

It may be argued that Pearson would enhance Bradford in a different area while checking several of Power’s boxes.
